TGRP on Friday 14th February 2020 planted 25 trees in three different locations at Tema Manhean in commemoration of this year's Valentine day activities.
Speaking to pupils and teachers of Manhean Methodist JHS, Manhean SDA JHS and ST. Peter's JHS before the commencement of planting, the Convener, Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa said the greatest gift anybody can give as a sign of love is to plant trees and that is why the organization decided to plant trees in the three schools as their Valentine gift to the planet and humanity by extension.
He said his organization strongly believes in the saying if the last tree die, the last man dies therefore making trees extremely important and central to the continuous existence of humanity.
He expressed “We are here this morning to show our love and care for all humans especially you young lads by planting trees because trees are life. Even more important is the role trees play in the global fight against the defining challenge of our time; climate change and global warming which remains a clear and present danger".
Some selected pupils were tasked to care for the trees planted and win various prizes from The Green Republic Project.
