We are not by any stretch of our imagination suggesting that by planting trees we would have brought a closure to all our environmental challenges.
But we can not however contest the critical place of trees in the fight against climate change and indeed human progress.
Saving our planet, lifting people out of poverty, advancing economic growth... these are one and the same fight. We must connect the dots between climate change, water scarcity, energy shortages, global health, food security and women's empowerment. Solutions to one problem must be solutions for all.
We must use all our resources to build a sense of urgency”, to raise ambition, while keeping temperature rises in the years ahead, as close to 1.5 degrees Celsius as possible.
We particularly entreat our celebrities most of whom fall within the youth brackets to lend their support to The Green Republic Project
as their contribution to building a healthy future for themselves and millions who make their celebrity status and careers meaningful.
It's about time we realize that there would be a generation living after our generation and that must guide our relationship with the ecosystem.
If you think the next generation is a distant away, just take a look at your children and you will find that generation right by you.
Tomorrow begins today folks!
The war against climate change, global warming and environmental degradation in general can only be won if humans reconcile with nature through restoration.
As leaders of tomorrow the youth have a sacred responsibility to play active roles in finding lasting solutions to challenges of the present
that has the potential to negatively impact the future.
The greatest injustice ever is when one generation of people abuse the ecosystem, endanger and deny another generation the right to a healthy environment as they inherited it. The reckless greed and selfishness must stop!
Our goal is to mastermind the planting of 20 million trees by 2028 to help avert the catastrophic repercussions of Climate Change and Global Warming.
Our lives begin to end the very day we stop planting trees.
We humbly propose that the era where building and road contractors pull down trees without any binding recourse ro replant them should be a thing of the past.
The Green Republic Project is a rescue mission of fierce urgency that needs the support of all. We are racing against time!
Young people should not only take delight in being leaders of tomorrow but must own the future by helping shape it today.
The leaders of today must strive to bequeath to the next generation a sound and healthy environment and not only concrete jungles.
