Convener of The Green Republic Project, Nana Yaw-Osei Darkwa gave a speech at the 6th Global Landscapes Forum in Bonn-Germany.
The Forestry Commission of Ghana and Humano Energy have been commended for their swift response to the call for support for The Green Republic Project aimed at planting 20 Million trees by the year 2028.
Speaking to the media a week after the launch of the project in Tamale. the convener, Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa said he was excited about the commitment of the Commission and Humano Energy to support a good initiative that seeks to fight against climate change and global warming.
The Forestry Commission and Humano Energy have pledged their support for The Green Republic Project which seeks to plant 20 Million Trees in the next 10 years.
The Forestry Commission on its part will support the project technically and materially, as it considers the project a noble one.
Insurance companies in the country must take advantage of the business opportunities in climate change financing industry to expand their business portfolios, the Convener and Team Lead of The Green Republic Project, Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa has said, commenting on the 2017 United Nations (UN) Climate Change Annual Report.
